Interesting interview with HarperCollins’ CEO, Brian Murray. One of the criticisms levelled at many multi-national entertainment businesses (publishers, record labels, etc) is that they “don’t get it”; that they’re dinosaurs.

Transitioning such large organisations at pace is difficult, particularly when one needs to protect legacy business while growing radically new revenue streams. This is a reason I don’t believe we need more ‘futurists’. We need transitionists, and to be frank they’re few and far between. Futurism doesn’t necessarily require domain knowledge; transitionism does.
